Committee Goals
The Faith Formation Commission is a committee that meet once a month to plan and implement Faith formation for all of our parish members from birth to death. Faith Formation includes the following six areas:
We receive monthly communications from the Archdiocese which help inform and guide our programs directions. We provide support and guidance for the following: Faith Formation Classes on Wednesday evenings. High School Faith Formation Core classes on Sunday evenings. RCIA – Rite of Christian Initiation on Monday evenings. Ongoing Baptism and confirmation preparation classes. Ongoing Adult formation which in the past included Small Faith Sharing groups such as: Dynamic Catholic Study groups, Catechism of the Catholic Church, Marriage Initiative, Bible Study and many others.
We provide the Living Faith Booklets, the Advent and Lent Calendars and the Little Blue Advent Books and the Little Black Lent Books.
The Faith Formation Commission is responsible for establishing the Youth Ministry program and our youth minister, Michelle. We help support and encourage our youth on their journeys to the National Conference, mission trips, youth rally and other events. We continue to encourage their involvement with our parish.
If you are interested in learning more about any of these ministries of the Faith Formation Commission, please contact one of the members, the parish office or feel free to attend one of our meetings which are held the second Thursday of each month (except July) at 6:30 PM in the Assembly Room.
Committee Goals
- To enrich our parishioners’ faith life through various activities.
- Promote family participation in the faith formation of their children.
The Finance Committee meets on a monthly basis along with Father Austin. Our business manager, Kelli Bendixen, attends all of our meetings. Members of this council are appointed and knowledgeable in financial matters. Our role as a committee is to provide assistance in managing the annual parish budget.
Committee Goals
The purpose of our committee is to assist the pastor, or sacramental priest, and the pastoral administrator in facilitating the liturgical prayer of the community. We hop to build the faith of our community through an understanding of our church’s rituals and traditions and giving direction to our parish worship.
Environment
This committee coordinates the atmosphere of the church for each liturgical season, which includes decorating the church and entrances. If interested, please call the office.
Committee Goals
The purpose is to offer welcome to new parishioners and foster a sense of belonging for all parishioners by providing activities which build and strengthen community within the parish and in its outreach efforts. It assists in the care of the parish community.
Bereavement Committee
This group provides sympathy cards and a family visit for each family who has lost a loved one. Carson’s Funeral Home provides a grief support group twice a year. Cards are also sent on the first Christmas and first anniversary of the loved ones passing. This group generally does not meet unless needed.
It is the purpose of this committee to promote and coordinate programs that will guarantee justice and charity in full measure to all God’s children in the world-wide community. This committee has the responsibility for enabling members of Sacred Heart Parish to respond to the social problems of today, giving special care to the poor, the lonely, the aged, the oppressed and minority groups.
Committee Goals
Members of this committee strive to develop stewardship awareness in the parish. We encourage parish members to share their gifts by participation in the Time, Talent, and Treasury ministries. God expects all his followers to supply the material needs of those who devote themselves to ministering the spiritual needs of the community.
