This is a national fraternal women’s organization with a local chapter. It has fundraisers through the year to give it the resources to assist programs in our parish.
This board consists of two trustees and two directors. Their duties are the general maintenance and upkeep of the cemetery grounds. They make decisions regarding mowing, trimming, marking of graves, and projects at the cemetery.
This a group of people bonded with the Franciscan Sisters who meet monthly for study, prayer and service. They are remembered each Wednesday at Mass at Mt. St. Francis by the Sisters.
This is a group of people who say the Prayer of St. Francis daily, and pray for the Franciscan Community in Dubuque. They are remembered in a Mass at Mt. St. Francis every Wednesday, and prayed for daily by the Sisters.
This is a national fraternal men’s organization with a local chapter. It has fundraisers through the year to give it the resources to assist programs in our parish. The Knights of Columbus meets on the third Thursday of the month in the Sacred Heart School.
The Knights of Columbus Council 8269 of Maquoketa has earned the distinction of Star Council, one of the organization’s top awards, for the 2015-2016 fraternal year. The organization’s headquarters, located in New Haven, Connecticut, made the announcement. The award recognizes overall excellence in the areas of membership recruitment and retention, promotion of the fraternal insurance program, and sponsorship of service oriented activities.
“Receiving the Star Council Award is quite an honor for us. We’re extremely proud of this accomplishment,” proclaimed Grand Knight Dennis Ihrig, head of the local council.
